Many sites are spacious and either forested or open, with several offering close water views and easy shoreline access for walking, fishing and wildlife watching. Facilities are generally clean, with showers and restrooms, picnic areas, a playground, short loop trails and a wide, convenient boat launch useful for reaching Bar Harbor. Practical tradeoffs: there are no utility hookups, some low‑lying sites can be muddy after rain, and generators are restricted (not permitted before 8 a.m.). Close to Acadia/Ellsworth for day trips.
