What campers say
Lake Walcott State Park is a well‑maintained, scenic spot on the Snake River and reservoir with mature shade trees, picnic areas, overlooks and good lake access for fishing, kayaking and trail‑side birding. Campground sites are picturesque, with pull‑through RV sites, utility hookups and paved pads; visitors often mention disc golf, walking paths and boat ramps. Wildlife viewing (deer, pelicans and other birds) is a frequent highlight. Practical tradeoffs: some visitors reported intermittent restroom/shower outages and limited visitor‑center services (no Wi‑Fi), and a few noted isolated check‑in/staffing issues. Overall it’s popular for outdoor recreation and lakeside camping.
