    Sites were somewhat narrow but length was good. Three hiking trails were well marked and shady. In order to get to the lake or even view it you needed to take a canoe or kayak down Dead River for about 1/2 mile. Easy in and out. Location was close to shopping and other activities outside of the park. Price was $24.00 per night.

Park Description

Lake Griffin State Park in Fruitland Park Florida is home to one of the state’s largest live oak trees. A short trail near the park entrance takes visitors to the mammoth oak tree. A canal connects the park to Lake Griffin, the eighth largest lake in Florida, where visitors can enjoy boating and canoeing, as well as fishing. Offers tent and RV camping in a shaded setting.
