Keystone Landing State Forest Campground is a quiet, rustic riverfront site on the Au Sable River with many tree-lined, private-feeling sites. Facilities are basic but generally clean: pit toilets/outhouses, hand-pumped water and a few sanitizer dispensers. There are no electric hookups or showers, so expect primitive camping; sandy soil helps keep sites from getting muddy. The location is popular for fishing and paddling, and night skies can be excellent. Occasional tick activity has been reported, so take standard precautions. Overall it's a peaceful spot for campers who prefer a simple, natural setting.
