AuSable River State Forest Campground and Canoe Camp in Grayling Michigan offers 13 sites for tent or small trailer use, 5 of which are designated for canoe-access only. Located on the main branch of the Au Sable River. Universally accessible picnic tables. Rustic campground includes vault toilets and potable water from well hand pump.

Rustic campground, nice sites, vault toilets, and hand pump water available. But as for getting to the river, there is a steep set of stairs you have to climb down to the river and up to the campsites. Not sure if I would want to do all that climbing with a kayak or canoe.
