What campers say

Kern River Campground offers grassy, tree-lined sites right by the river, with river access, a dump station and potable water. Restrooms and showers are generally available and often cleaned, though facilities can look worn or may include porta‑potties at times. The park is family-friendly and hosts are typically helpful, but expect summer heat, insects, bold squirrels and numerous small animal burrows. The river current can be strong, so swimming is risky and requires caution. Nights can be quiet midweek but may become noisy, and a small online fee/reservation structure applies; some sites have limited RV space.
