Campers come to the Kellettville Recreation Area Campground to enjoy the forested area along Tionesta Creek. The area is ideal for fishing, hunting as well as scenic hiking. Tionesta is a culturally rich region with a long history. The Seneca Indian tribe named this area "where the water separates the land." Nearly a century ago, narrow gauge railways dotted the surrounding countryside, hauling out virgin timber from the hillsides.

Kellettville Recreation Area Campground is a small, riverside campground on Tionesta Creek that appeals to campers seeking a quiet, primitive-style stay with good creek access for paddling and fishing. Sites generally lack electric, water, and sewer hookups; there is a dump station and restrooms but no showers. Water and dump-station availability can be seasonal, so bring your own water early in the season. Restroom condition varies and some facilities are basic pit toilets. Away from light pollution, it’s good for stargazing. Be prepared for occasional noise from generators and limited nearby services.

This was a "drive-thru" review late July 2019. Kellettville a is very basic dry ( non-electric camping area with one road and a turn-a-round at the end and 20 sites. Does have potable water and a dump station. ** During my visit the dump station was out of order roped off with yellow caution tape. The sites in general are average in size with some offering some privacy. Mostly sunny to partial shade sites. The site pads are either grass or some have cinders. The small river (Tionesta Creek) can be fished but so so as far as deep enough to kayak. The restrooms with showers are "so so" at best. ** ( of some of the other COE campgrounds in this region, the shower facilities were below average as far as upkeep and cleaning). The price was $12 a night mid April to the end of Sept and "free" Oct to mid April. The roads to get to the campground are somewhat small county roads. Many of the other roads in the Allegheny National Forest are gravel. The campground would hold 35' RV's if you felt comfortable driving the smaller roads to get there. You are in the Allegheny National Forest with 24 different campgrounds from State Parks, US Forest Service, COE (Corp of Engineers) and free ( mostly tent ) disbursement camping.
