The first thing to realize about Portland is that most of the camping locations are out away from the city near either the highway, railroad, or airport. These locations can not control air traffic or train captains. If you remove the noise from these two outside factors this is a really nice place to stay near Portland. We even had a 4g Verizon signal.

What campers say
Jantzen Beach RV Park sits on Hayden Island with easy Portland access and river views. Many guests praise its cleanliness, onsite laundry, and well‑maintained sites; others find the site mix of long‑term residents makes the park feel crowded. Practical tradeoffs include a convenient central location versus limited outdoor space and variable site experiences—some report wide, easy-to-access spots while others describe tight, packed rows. Several reviewers raise concerns about after‑hours access (bathroom/gate codes) and strict age/rental requirements for rigs and monthly stays, so check reservation and check‑in policies before booking.
