Ideal Campground is a small, family-oriented park now under new ownership, with many visitors noting friendly owners/managers and a welcoming community. The grounds are kept tidy and seasonal campers return regularly. Sites provide water, electric and Wi‑Fi, and offer direct access to the Schroon River (and a nearby brook), making it convenient for paddleboarding and kayaking. The campground is close to the highway, with Adirondack High Peaks and Lake George each roughly 35 minutes away. Owners are investing in amenities—some improvements are already in place (a basketball court) and a pool is planned—though a few visitors say additional children’s programming would be beneficial.
