Hendy Woods State Park centers on ancient redwood groves and offers a quiet, family-friendly campground. Sites are spacious with fire rings, picnic tables, bear-proof food lockers and clean flush restrooms and showers; there are also basic cabins with wood stoves and bunk beds. Short, easy hiking trails lead from the campground into the redwoods and to a nearby river. Practical conveniences include an on-site EV charger and generally good cellular coverage, plus nearby wineries and a 45-minute drive to Mendocino. Note that some trails and loop roads have been affected by storm damage and parts of the road/trail infrastructure may need maintenance.
