Stayed here many times. likely my all time favorite beach campground. Camp Hosts are always great, keep the facilities spotless. Sites are gravel, good water and electric hookups, asphalt roads. Many of the sites are screened by vegetation and you feel very secluded, can't see your neighbors. Your own private beach in one of the most beautiful parts of the Emerald Coast (IMHO the most beautiful beaches in the USA are in this 50 mile crescent of the Florida Panhandle - Destin to Panama City Beach). Over a mile of beach used only by the campers and the day use visitors in the park, plenty of room to stretch out and relax. Shopping is close, Walmart across the street. The only negative aspects: the park is so busy, you usually have to reserve months in advance to find a campsite for a few consecutive days, and the traffic on HWY 98 is gridlocked certain times of the year.

Henderson Beach State Park offers wide stretches of sugar-white sand, clear emerald Gulf waters, and well-preserved coastal dunes with tidy boardwalks and easy beach access. Campsites and day areas feel private and rarely crowded, and park staff and rangers are frequently described as friendly and attentive, even assisting visitors during storms. Facilities include restrooms, outdoor rinse showers, pavilions and ample parking. Reservations are required and an entry fee is charged per vehicle, so plan ahead. Lifeguard coverage and nighttime road noise near the highway can vary by site, so choose spots carefully if either is a concern.
