What campers say

Havasupai Campground sits beside turquoise Havasu Creek amid towering red canyon walls — widely described as spectacular. Reaching it involves a strenuous 10-mile hike (mules operate on the trail) and requires a limited permit in advance. Sites offer shade, the sound of running water, picnic tables and freshwater spigots/Fern Spring (filtering recommended). Facilities are basic: composting toilets and rustic bathrooms, and there is no trash service, so pack out what you bring. Rangers and a baggage drop with wheelbarrows help logistics; mobile service is spotty near the ranger office. Plan carefully for loose gravel, heat and seasonal water hazards.
