Harry S Truman State Park is an expansive, woodsy lake destination with plenty to do: three swimming spots, multiple hiking trails (including a short Bluff Ridge loop), extensive boating and fishing access across many lake fingers, and several campgrounds with roomy, well-spaced sites, picnic tables, fire rings, and bathhouses. Some facilities such as the visitor center, marina, or restrooms may be closed seasonally and toilets can be limited in the off-season, so plan ahead. The park is family- and dog-friendly, staff are generally helpful, and visitors should expect hilly terrain and ticks.
