What campers say

Spacious, mostly private campsites with frequent lake views and easy water access are a consistent highlight. Grounds and bathhouses are generally clean, and park staff at the entrance store are friendly and helpful; the on-site store supplies basics, ice, firewood and self-serve kayak/paddleboard rentals. Expect peaceful sunsets, good fishing and quiet trails, though low lake levels have exposed rockier shorelines. Hurricane damage has closed portions of the park and cleanup is ongoing, so some loops/sites remain unavailable. Sites can be tight to back into and some visitors find fees on the high side, but many consider the setting worth it.

Beautiful state park. Lots of shade. Big sites. 30 amp. Waterfront. Located right on Thurmond lake. Clean, accessible. Wifi pretty weak, regular tv weak. Maybe 6 stations. Nice camp store with free fishing poles and games to use while. Absolutely love it here. Unfortunately we upgraded to a 42 foot fiver and can no longer fit.

Very nice state park, large spots, very wooded, on lake thurmond, park rangers very helpful. Clean restrooms, nice bike riding, open year round, close to town if you need anything, we camped in a 5th wheel
