What campers say

Halfmoon Campground is a quiet, scenic spot well suited for a low‑key weekend or family getaway. It sits remotely off Grade Valley Road with campsites near a creek or riverbed; creek flow is variable so plan accordingly. Facilities are minimal—vault toilets are present but no hookups or potable water—so bring your own supplies. The access road includes stream crossings that can be deep at times; while many vehicles make the trip, a higher‑clearance or four‑wheel‑drive vehicle provides added confidence. Expect few other campers outside hunting seasons and enjoy a peaceful, rustic setting with nearby trails (some of which have been closed).
