📖 About This Campground
Hal Scott Preserve Primitive Campgrounds east of Orlando Florida (Wedgefield FL) is a county managed natural area with three designated hike-in camping areas. Miles of unspoiled sanctuary trails for hiking along the scenic shoreline of the Econlockhatchee River with plenty of wildlife to view; wildlife sightings may include bald eagles, sandhill cranes, red-cockaded woodpeckers, gopher tortoises, bobcats, river otters and indigo snakes. Trails are available for hiking, horseback riding and bicycling, and fishing is permitted. Primitive camping is allowed in designated sites. (Motorized vehicles are not permitted.)
