Greendale Campground is a very small, well‑maintained site (about eight single-family sites) that offers a quiet, secluded setting with wide spacing between campsites and good nighttime skies. There are toilets on site (vault/pit-style) and a dumpster; reviewers generally found facilities clean. A potable water spigot exists but has been reported out of service at times, so plan to bring water. No hookups are available. Tree cover and shade vary by site, and a dusty access road and adjacent RV park can affect the sites closest to that side. Cell signal has been reported as good.

A forest of ponderosa pines towers over Greendale, offering partial shade. Beneath the trees, grasses and plentiful summer wildflowers cover the campground. Trash collection is provided. Dump stations do have a fee and are located at Antelope Flat, Deer Run, Firefighters, and Lodgepole Campgrounds. Showers are located at Deer Run and Mustang Ridge for campers with proof of camping registration. Firewood is for sale at nearby Firefighters Campground. Don't Move Firewood: Help prevent the spread of tree-killing pests in our national forests by obtaining firewood near your destination and burning it on-site. Nearby Attractions:
  • Bear Canyon Trail is an easy 3-mile round-trip trail beginning a mile away, offering hiking and biking opportunities and leading to views of Red Canyon and Flaming Gorge Reservoir.
  • Beautiful Flaming Gorge Reservoir is less than 5 miles from the campground. The reservoir is known for its world-class fishing for lake, brown and rainbow trout.
  • Boating, water skiing, jet skiing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming and scuba diving are also popular activities. Cedar Springs Marina is 3.5 miles from the campground.
  • Flaming Gorge Dam offers guided tours of the working hydroelectric plant and the dam, and the adjacent visitor center contains area history exhibits.
  • The Green River below the dam provides spectacular rafting opportunities. A trip down the river offers unique geology, outlaw history and Native American rock art.
