What campers say

Fremont Campground offers shaded, roomy sites with plenty of trees and regular wildlife sightings (wild turkeys and evening frogs/owls noted). Hosts are generally friendly and helpful, and the site is conveniently close to beaches, hiking, Solvang and the Santa Ynez River. Expect a basic, rustic setup: restrooms have been closed at times and portable toilets are used, some sites are sloped or a walk from parking, and mosquitoes/bugs can be prevalent at dusk. Fees run around $40 per night (additional car fees reported) and campsites fill up—reservations or planning ahead are recommended.
