📖 About This Campground
Fischers Lilly Park Campground in Fort Pierre South Dakota provides partial hookup (water and electric) RV and tent camping along the shores of Bad River. This park is home to a historic moment in US history: The meeting of Lewis and Clarkโs Corp of Discovery and the Teton Lakota nation is considered to be one of the most pivotal moments in the history of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. Differences in trade objectives, diplomacy, and the lack of an interpreter lead to an armed confrontation, the closest Lewis and Clark came to a premature end to their expedition. This meeting happened at the mouth of the Bad River in what today is known as Fischers Lilly Park.
12 sites available on a first come first served basis. The city managed park charges a very reasonable fee of $15 per night. The roads and sites are packed gravel with mowed grass separation. To access the sites drivers must enter the one way road and either backin to one side or circle a small turn around and then backin to sites on the other. Each site is large enough for bigger RVs.
A playground, pavilion and boat launch are available.
