What campers say

Deer Creek Campground is a small, tent-only site along the Burr Trail that offers raised sand tent pads, picnic tables and metal fire rings for a simple, scenic stay. It’s a first-come/fee campground (about $10) with limited parking per site and a 20‑ft vehicle guideline, so turning around and space can be tight. Facilities are minimal: one vault/pit toilet, no potable water, and limited wood sales — bring water and toilet paper. The creek and cottonwoods provide shade, stellar night skies and easy trail access, but bring insect repellent and be aware of flooding risk in storms.
