$22 per night for a lovely water front site. Well cared for state park with nice spaces for large RVs down to tent campers. Verizon 3G was solid making the park almost perfect (no sewer connections).

Daisy State Park in Kirby Arkansas offers 103 RV and tent camping sites ranging from primitive to electric and water. Adjacent lake for water activities.

Daisy State Park, located in the beautiful Ouachita Mountains of southwestern Arkansas, is a hidden gem offering campers a peaceful and picturesque escape into nature. This charming park, situated on the shores of Lake Greeson, spans over 276 acres and provides a variety of outdoor activities, making it an ideal destination for families, nature enthusiasts, and anyone seeking a serene retreat.

As you arrive at Daisy State Park, you are immediately enveloped by its tranquil ambiance and stunning scenery. The campground is well-maintained and offers a range of accommodations to suit different preferences. With 103 campsites, including both electric and non-electric options, as well as five fully equipped cabins and a group camp area, the park caters to tent campers, RV travelers, and those seeking a more comfortable stay. Each campsite is thoughtfully equipped with a picnic table and fire ring, perfect for enjoying meals and evenings around the campfire under a sky filled with stars. The spacious sites are nestled among tall pines and hardwoods, providing ample shade and a sense of seclusion.

One of the main attractions of Daisy State Park is its proximity to the pristine Lake Greeson. This 7,000-acre lake offers a variety of water-based activities that appeal to all ages and interests. Boating enthusiasts will appreciate the park’s boat ramps and marina, making it easy to launch a boat and explore the lake’s clear waters. Canoeing and kayaking are also popular pursuits, allowing visitors to paddle along the scenic shoreline and discover hidden coves and inlets. For those who enjoy fishing, Lake Greeson is well-known for its excellent angling opportunities, with an abundance of species such as largemouth bass, crappie, catfish, and bream. Anglers can cast their lines from the shore or a boat, enjoying a relaxing and rewarding day on the water.

Swimming is another favorite activity at Daisy State Park, with a designated swim beach providing a safe and enjoyable area for families to splash and play in the lake’s refreshing waters. The beach is well-maintained and offers picnic tables and grills nearby, making it a perfect spot for a family outing or a leisurely day by the water.

Hiking enthusiasts will find several trails within the park that showcase the natural beauty of the Ouachita Mountains. The Daisy Creek Nature Trail is a short, easy hike that winds through the forest and along the creek, offering opportunities to observe local wildlife and native plants. For a more challenging hike, the Bear Creek Cycle Trail is a multi-use trail that provides stunning views of the lake and surrounding hills. Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or just looking for a pleasant stroll, the trails at Daisy State Park offer a peaceful way to connect with nature.

In addition to its natural attractions, Daisy State Park offers modern amenities to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The campground features clean restrooms, shower facilities, and a camp store stocked with essentials. For those who prefer a more rustic experience, the park also offers primitive group campsites, perfect for scouts or large family gatherings. The park staff is friendly and knowledgeable, providing information and assistance to help visitors make the most of their stay.

For those interested in picnicking, the park provides several scenic picnic areas equipped with tables, grills, and shelters. These spots are perfect for family gatherings, offering a peaceful setting to enjoy a meal surrounded by nature. The park also features playgrounds for children, making it an ideal destination for families with young kids.

One of the unique aspects of Daisy State Park is its rich history. The park and surrounding area have been a popular recreational destination for many years, with the lake and its amenities being developed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The park’s visitor center offers educational exhibits and programs that highlight the area’s natural and cultural history. Rangers lead guided hikes, interpretive programs, and special events, enhancing the overall experience and providing a deeper understanding of the park’s significance.

The nearby town of Murfreesboro adds to the charm of the camping experience. Visitors can explore local shops, enjoy home-cooked meals at town restaurants, and experience the warm hospitality of the local community. The town’s historic sites and cultural events provide an additional layer of interest for those looking to immerse themselves in the local heritage.

Camping at Daisy State Park is more than just an outdoor adventure; it’s an invitation to experience the beauty and tranquility of the Ouachita Mountains. Whether you’re hiking scenic trails, paddling on the lake, fishing for your next big catch, or simply relaxing by the campfire, Daisy State Park offers an unforgettable escape into nature. With its diverse activities, stunning landscapes, and welcoming atmosphere, it’s no wonder that Daisy State Park is a cherished destination for campers of all ages.
