What campers say
Custer Trail Campground offers a quiet, rustic lakeside experience well suited to kayaking, swimming, fishing and wildlife viewing (eagles, herons, deer and pronghorns). Campsites accommodate tents and a handful of RVs, with several tent-only spots on a hillside equipped with fire rings. The lake is no-wake and peaceful, with direct access to the 23-mile Deerfield Trail. Basic restroom facilities (pit toilets) are available and are generally kept tidy. Practical tradeoffs include a rough dirt access road, closely spaced sites with limited privacy, sloped sites that can collect water in heavy rain, and only a few RV spaces.
