Crawford State Park delivers attractive lake and mountain scenery with fishing, boating and lakeside recreation alongside campsites and basic amenities such as restrooms, showers and picnic areas. Visitors note clean facilities, a good playground for children and dark skies that are great for stargazing. Roads within the park are mostly dirt and many sites have little shade, so summer days can be hot though evenings are cool. Wind can be strong—large, freestanding tents may struggle— and water levels have been low at times; boat-ramp hours and a required day pass should be checked before arrival.
