What campers say
Cliffs of the Neuse offers a scenic cliff overlook of the Neuse River, extensive tree‑canopied trails and easy-to-moderate hikes ideal for day trips or camping. Campsites and bathhouses are generally clean and well maintained, and staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful. The park includes a swimming lake with lifeguards and a dock, a kids area and interpretive displays. Practical tradeoffs include some rough park roads, trails that can flood after heavy rain, and occasional issues like abundant ants and cash-only purchases at the lakeside bathhouse/snack area. Overall, a well-maintained, family-friendly spot for hiking and camping.
