Chilkat State Park is widely praised for dramatic coastal and mountain scenery, abundant wildlife sightings, and a variety of short hikes and photo opportunities. Campground hosts and well‑kept sites and restrooms receive frequent positive comments, and many sites are pull‑through. Practical tradeoffs include a rough access road with tight turns that can challenge larger RVs, occasional through‑traffic inside the loop, and limited cell coverage near some sites. A boat launch and good paddling opportunities are nearby, but the launch area is separate from the loops and may require driving to reach.
