This campground was formerly a COE park. It's on an island in a day use park in the middle of the Snake River with beautiful scenery and river access. Boat ramp, roped off swimming area, reantal cabins, dog beach, yes beach, tent area. Sites are pull thrus on both sides of the road, easy in and out, all shady. Playground (closed), tables and fire ring. Big grassy areas, trails and picnic shelter. Roads and sites are paved. Lots and lots of spiders, I think we brought some home with us.

What campers say
Chief Timothy Park offers a pleasant, family-friendly island setting with boat launches, docks, a sandy beach with roped swimming areas, a playground, walking trails and a mix of RV sites and small cabins. Many guests praise attentive, helpful staff and the park’s suitability for group stays, kayaking and wildlife viewing. However, maintenance appears uneven: some visitors report litter, overgrown or weedy common areas, insects/wasps/spiders, and occasional dirty or cold showers. Staff are often reported to address problems when notified, but prospective visitors should expect variable upkeep and check water-quality or shower availability during warmer months.
