Cathedral Caverns State Park offers a large, well-maintained cave tour with impressive formations and roughly a mile to 1.5 miles of walking. Knowledgeable guides make the experience informative and family-friendly; gem-mining buckets and educational elements are popular with kids. Paths are cemented with handrails, but there are inclines, occasional puddles and slippery spots—sturdy shoes and a light jacket for the cool mid-60s cave temperature are recommended. Tours can fill up, so book ahead. Onsite amenities include parking, restrooms, a gift shop, picnic areas and limited camping/cabin options. Many visitors find the price reasonable.
