This campground is at the base of the Catalina Mountains. It's a gorgeous area! The camp spots do not have a lot of shade or restrictions between you and the other campers but enough to not feel on top of each other. Most spots have water/electric. No sewer and only BBQ stands. No fire pits. The bathrooms are very nice with hot showers and well maintained.

Catalina State Park sits in a scenic desert foothills setting with extensive hiking and mountain‑biking trails for a range of abilities, picnic areas, and nearby scenic drives and attractions. Campgrounds offer water and electrical hookups, a dump station, and restrooms/showers; staff and volunteers run regular nature programs and occasional music events. The park is convenient to Tucson amenities and dog‑friendly. Practical tradeoffs: some campsites and the Ringtail overflow loop can feel crowded, toilets and additional facilities have been mentioned for improvement, and fees or annual passes may seem steep to occasional visitors.
