What campers say
Castroville Regional Park offers varied hiking and walking opportunities, with well‑maintained trails ranging from easy loops to steeper, narrow paths that can be challenging for strollers. Amenities include numerous picnic tables, pavilions and barbecue pits (reservations via posted codes), playgrounds, sports courts, tent and RV camping, and a small pool near the entrance. The park is popular for dog walks, birdwatching and occasional deer sightings. Seasonal water levels in the river/canal can be low. Visitors should be aware of occasional litter and insects such as fire ants, and that shade over some play areas and restroom availability may be limited.
