What campers say

Brown Mountain Campground is a small, remote mountain site alongside the Wood River that visitors generally find peaceful, clean, and scenic, with good trout fishing. Sites are relatively spacious and include basic amenities such as outhouses and fire rings. The area offers access to the nearby Kirwin ghost town via a dirt road, which appeals to off‑roaders and ATV users. Be aware the site is remote (roughly 25 miles from Meeteetse) and services can be limited; some visitors have reported occasional closures due to funding and limited posted information, and nearby campgrounds can fill with large RVs.
