What campers say

Brookshire Campground is a very small, remote site reached by long, rough forest roads; expect a 2–2.5 hour drive from the highway on rocky, sometimes creek-crossing tracks. There are only two official campsites (each with a picnic table and a metal fire ring) and a basic restroom shack, but no potable water—bring all supplies. Its seclusion makes it a good choice for solitude and short hikes, but the limited sites fill quickly. Some visitors have reported cleanliness issues, missing toilet paper, and occasional litter, so plan to pack out trash and be self-sufficient.
