Many visitors appreciate the rocky shoreline and scenic setting, and it can be convenient for 4x4s and transit. However, expect tradeoffs: hosts are sometimes reported absent or unfriendly, and restrooms and coin showers are frequently unreliable or unclean. The lake can have low water, and several guests noted glass, nails and algae or leech concerns that make swimming risky—bring water shoes and check posted warnings. Shade is limited and summer heat can be intense, so plan accordingly.
