What campers say
Big Rock Campground in Fenner Canyon is a small, secluded mountain site with shady trees, hiking access and good stargazing. Sites are few and often quiet, making it appealing for a peaceful overnight. Amenities are basic: pit toilets, fire rings/grills and locked trash bins; there is no potable water so bring your own and a valid Adventure/forest pass is required. The access road can be rough—AWD or high‑clearance recommended though some sedans manage. Bugs (mosquitoes, flies) can be heavy in season. Some visitors have reported litter and occasional ranger enforcement issues, so expect rustic conditions and pack out trash.
