📖 About This Campground

Best Western Plus Edgewater Resort RV Sites in Sandpoint Idaho offers RV camping adjacent to the motel and central to town. The amazing location allows RV guests to park in an unassuming and unimproved dirt lot next to a large city park and beach, the water and marina. A railroad line runs immediately behind the RV sites so noise can be loud and makes for the only, and for some, main negative for the location. Back in or pull in RV sites with full hookups the spacing is a bit tight between sites and depending upon the number of guests (both in the park and at the city park) can make navigating a chore. Note that to get to this location RVs must pass through a narrow and low clearance bridge (13'6"). The majority of RVs are shorter than this height but do be aware of your RV height to ensure you do not scalp your rig! Self contained units only there are no bathrooms or shower facilities. A short walk in to the lovely downtown area.

The description is 100% accurate for this non-assuming, dusty, tight little campground. No amenities, however, the Best Western allows campers to use their pool and hot tub. RV Park check-in is at the Best Western. Wifi here is really good!!! We stayed in a 40ft motorhome on lot 26. Everyone is super nice. The great thing about this campground is its location. Sandpoint has a great little downtown area, with shopping, good restaurants, great ice cream (!!!), post office, and grocery store - all within walking distance. The Best Western Resort & RV Park is located at the City Beach, right on the water. Really pretty. Plenty of walking trails, kid's playground, and beach with marinas on both sides of the beach. We LOVED camping here. Sit out by the lake during the day, then walk to town for dinner. The only negative about this little town is the constant trains that roll through every 22 minutes. I mean, you get used to the noise and the dust, but the location of the RV Park makes up for it. The RV Park is just a side lot, really. Half the sites back up to the railroad tracks and half back up to the City Beach parking lot. The RR tracks are elevated above the Park, so that helps with noise a bit. Try to get a site that backs up to the City Beach parking lot. That will help a bit. Regardless of the trains, you will be VERY HAPPY YOU STAYED HERE! Just make plans to wash the dust off your rig & tow vehicle after you leave.
