Barkcamp State Park is a well‑maintained, family‑friendly park centered on a shallow, sandy lake with a small beach, boating and fishing opportunities. Campground facilities include roomy RV sites (some with water and electric), clean shower buildings, laundry and an equestrian camping area with separated corrals and good high‑lines. Miles of generally quiet trails offer wildlife viewing and solitude. Visitors report reasonable weekday and weekly rates but busier weekends and occasional campsite reservation issues; some tent sites are not drive‑in and a few pit toilets need more frequent cleaning.
