What campers say

Atwell Mill Campground sits in a scenic, forested spot above Three Rivers and offers a quiet, primitive camp experience with nearby Mineral King trail access. Expect a narrow, century‑old single‑lane mountain road with slow traffic and intermittent construction—allow extra time, arrive in daylight, and avoid very small vehicles. Facilities are basic: pit latrines, bear boxes, and limited or non‑potable water reported; no electricity. Sites are shady and scenic but can be close together; many visitors noted abundant firewood. Be aware of recent tree‑work and occasional falling branches. Good for those seeking solitude and rugged mountain access.
