Great views of the lake and across to the distant Tetons. Only 10 miles from Gros Ventre and a heck of a lot less crowded or expensive. Mosquitoes tried to carry the baby away they were so thick. Camp hosts take their job seriously here. Verizon signal was just out of reach for us but maybe with a booster it would work. People fished from shore next to the campground and there is a boat launch too.

What campers say
Atherton Creek Campground sits on Slide Lake and is praised for lakeside views, shaded, secluded sites, and clean facilities. Visitors find the host attentive, sites equipped with fire rings and nearby water, and the area dog-friendly. Wildlife (foxes, bears) and seasonal insects are common, so food storage and caution are advised. Cell service is minimal; mornings can be calm for paddleboards but afternoons often get windy. The campground can fill on weekends, and some reviewers note a shift toward reservations that reduces first-come availability. Fees are generally modest and a parks discount is sometimes available.
