Ararat River Campground is a small, quiet site with attentive management, wooded sites, a creek and a pond and short on-site trails. It’s family- and pet-friendly, with a playground, fishing access and a decent bathhouse with very hot showers; laundry is available but basic. Wi‑Fi generally works. The campground hosts many long-term residents alongside short-term guests, creating a community feel that may suit some visitors more than others. Roads to the park are winding and can be tricky for large rigs; some tent sites are uneven. Good base for Pilot Mountain and nearby towns.
