Another great KOA. All kinds of sites, all very level, back in, pull through, some back-to-back sites, deluxe sites, deluxe cabins, tent sites, primitive tent sites, group sites, etc. We were here during flood season so everything was wet and lots of puddles. Gravel sites and roads. Table at each site but no fires allowed. Pool, playground, lounge, well stocked store, guide to site, dog run, laundry. Not far from town. Lots of wildlife, rabbits, birds, etc. Prairie dog town across the street. Definitely one of the better choices in Amarillo.

Amarillo KOA Journey is a clean, well-maintained park with friendly, efficient staff, roomy full-hookup sites and a well stocked store. Restrooms and showers earn frequent praise, and there’s a pool, dog park and an on-site food truck offering breakfast and dinner. It’s convenient to I-40 and nearby attractions. Tradeoffs include occasional noise reported from nearby trains and the small airport, sites that can feel close together, and limited pool hours or temporary closures. Tent campers should note daytime heat; some pet fencing or clothes-line options are restricted.
