Hello I am Mark Koep with we’re here at Acadia National Park on the Schoodic Peninsula for the ribbon-cutting of the brand new campground and RV park here at the National Park. This special day represents an opportunity for guests to explore the Schoodic Peninsula on their terms the campground will allow you to spend more time rather than just a couple hours a couple days experiencing and learning more about the scenic area of the National Park. The new campground and day use parking area offers plenty of space and plenty of information to allow you to discover this unique area. The park service went all out with a ribbon-cutting ceremony headlined by the honourable Senator Angus King. “It’s a great new camp ground right here to Acadia National Park one of the great spots in America. A beautiful campground I’m staying here tonight myself and what’s not to like.” The campground is open now on a first-come first-served basis with the latest amenities and facilities the pack gravel paved road campground offers a scenic location to get away from the bustle of daily life partial hookups including water and electric 50 and 30 amp and the tent sites are electric with 20 amps hookups. Senator King, “I’ll tell you it’s one of the few places in the world where you have mountains and the ocean right next to each other one of the most dramatic vistas in the world people just love it when they come here its I think it’s one of the most visited National Parks in the country and that tells you that people like it”.
