Park Description

Killens Pond State Park, established in 1965, is centrally located in Kent County, Delaware, near Felton. The park encompasses a 66-acre millpond along the Murderkill River, offering a variety of recreational activities year-round.

Recreational Activities:

  • Boating and Fishing: The pond is open to boating, with rentals available for canoes, kayaks, and pedal boats. Anglers can fish for bass, crappie, bluegill, catfish, perch, and pickerel.
  • Hiking and Biking: Several miles of trails are available for hiking, biking, and cross-country skiing, allowing visitors to explore the park’s natural beauty.
  • Disc Golf: An 18-hole disc golf course runs through the park, providing a fun activity for all ages.
  • Water Park: The Killens Pond Water Park features a pool with a zero-depth entrance, lap lanes, and water slides, offering summer fun for the whole family.

Camping and Accommodations:

  • Campsites: The campground offers 59 sites with electric and water hookups, as well as 17 walk-to tent sites. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring.
  • Cabins and Cottages: Fully equipped cabins and a cottage are available for rent year-round, featuring kitchens, bathrooms, heating, and air conditioning.

Additional Amenities:

  • Nature Center: The park’s nature center offers educational programs and exhibits about local wildlife and ecosystems.
  • Sports Facilities: Visitors can enjoy ballfields, playing courts, and a bike path that follows the main park entrance from U.S. Route 13.
