The campground at Stephen Foster Cultural Center is another of Florida’s beautiful state parks. It’s on the Suwannee River. The interior roads are paved, sites are gravel. Each site has a fire pit, grill and table. They are all long and wide, and spaced well for privacy. The area has many large oak trees covered with Spanish moss. Lots of birds and squirrels and a wonderful pine smell throughout. Sites only have water and electric, there is a dump. Also a primitive camping area and five cabins. Playground, restrooms, laundry, ampitheater, picnic shelters, canoe and kayak rentals and launch. Very quiet campground and great for riding a bike. You drive past the cultural center, craft village, restaurant, museum, carillon (that plays Stephen Foster songs during the day), gift shop, and boat launch to get to the campground. All of the buildings and boat launch were closed when we were there due to COVID but we still have a very enjoyable trip and even made reservations to return next year.
