What campers say

Wrangler Meadow Horse Camp offers well-organized equestrian camping with spacious, level RV pads, full hookups, and wide sites with tables and fire rings. Covered 12x12 stalls include lights, water, stone-dust bedding and shavings; a turn-out pasture is available. Hosts Marilyn and Dick are attentive, share detailed maps and trail-app guidance, and can arrange stock-trailer rentals to alternate trailheads. Trails are extensive, varied, and accessible directly from camp into the national forest; some riders advise full shoes for horses given the terrain. Visitors also note a very clean shower/bathhouse and overall thoughtful amenities.

📖 About This Campground

We are a campground that caters to people who camp and trail ride with their personal horses . We do not rent horses. All campers and RVs are welcome but the horse camper’s safety comes first. The campground is in the Mountains of West Virginia and located at the foot of Spruce Knob Recreational Area on Briery Gap Road in Riverton, WV. Spruce Knob is the highest elevation in West Virginia. The scenery and views are spectacular. The riding season from May to November will be Almost Heaven. We have 5 RV sites with electric, water, sewer and 2 sites with only electric and water. All sites have 50 AMP electric. There is a bath house and restroom for your convenience and covered pens for your horses. Dogs are welcome but should be on a leash when in the campground.
