What campers say
Willow Creek State Recreation Area is a scenic, wooded lake park with a well-kept crushed-rock trail of about seven miles, plus horseback trails, archery, disc golf, playground and beach areas. Campgrounds and RV pads are generally maintained and level, making camping and boating convenient. Common drawbacks include dated bathhouse/restroom facilities and no on-site dump station (nearest one in Pierce), occasional algae blooms and an abundance of small shad that can affect fishing, and seasonal mosquitoes—so bring repellent. Some visitors also report tent sites placed close to large RV spots, which can lead to nighttime noise for tent campers.
