What campers say

Westport-Union Landing State Beach is prized for dramatic ocean views, crashing waves, and memorable sunsets — a peaceful, scenic spot for stargazing. Campsites are rustic with picnic tables and fire rings; there are no hookups or showers. Bathroom facilities are basic pit-style toilets and cleanliness reports vary. The main campground near Fort Bragg has dump-and-fill access; northern sites lack that and water is limited to non-threaded spigots. Beach access requires walking down steep paths and bluff edges create safety concerns for children and pets. Occasional noise, litter, or lack of patrols have been reported, though rangers are generally helpful if contacted.
