What campers say

Vogel State Park is a well-maintained, scenic park in North Georgia. Campground and cabins are generally clean and thoughtfully laid out; many RV sites are spacious with separate tent pads, though some sites can feel tight for larger rigs. Staff and the visitor center are consistently praised (new visitor center, small CCC museum, lobby fireplace). The lake is currently drained for dam repairs, which alters views and waterfront activities until repairs are complete. Trails and proximity to the Appalachian Trail make it a good base for hiking. Expect generally quiet nights, but occasional highway noise and recent small fee increases have been reported.

📖 About This Campground

Vogel State Park in Blairsville Georgia offers partial and primitive (no water, electric, or sewer) hookup RV and tent camping (including hike-in tent camping) at the base of Blood Mountain in the Chattahoochee National Forest. Driving from the south, visitors pass through Neel Gap, a beautiful mountain pass near Brasstown Bald, the highest point in Georgia. Vogel is particularly popular during the fall when the Blue Ridge Mountains transform into a rolling blanket of red, yellow and gold leaves.
