What campers say
Turtle River State Park offers well-maintained, varied trails for hiking and biking, fishing and tubing on a slow river, plus camping sites and cabins with level sites offering power and water. Visitors frequently praise very clean, spacious restrooms/showers and friendly, helpful staff; there's also a small park shop, historic CCC stone picnic areas and educational programs. Practical tradeoffs: a daily vehicle parking fee (about $7) applies, ticks and mosquitoes can be heavy in season, and occasional weekday maintenance noise has been reported. Overall it’s a quiet, scenic park suitable for families and outdoor recreation.
