What campers say

Trapper Springs Campground sits along the Madison River and offers basic, spacious sites with fire rings, picnic tables, potable well water, and clean vault toilets. The setting is open sage with little shade, making it scenic for rafting and fly-fishing but exposed to strong winds that can challenge tents and canopies. Access is via about a mile of gravel road that can be washboardy. Highway traffic can sometimes be audible, though nights are generally quiet. The campground suits RV boondocking and day-use for river access; visitors should weigh the lack of shade and wind exposure against the convenient riverfront location.
