What campers say

Thompson Chain of Lakes State Park presents a scenic series of clear lakes popular for boating, canoeing, swimming and fishing. Numerous small, scattered campgrounds and lakeside sites give many options for water access and relaxed lakeside stays; some sites reportedly have cleared areas with available firewood. Anglers find good fishing when weather cooperates. The park can be busy at peak times, so plan accordingly for reservations or arriving early to secure preferred sites. Overall, it’s well suited to water-based recreation and simple camping, with the usual tradeoffs of crowds and weather-dependent fishing.
