Temperance River State Park offers dramatic Lake Superior shoreline, lakefront campsites, and well-maintained campgrounds with clean bathrooms and well-spaced sites. The park’s trail network leads to multiple waterfalls and rewarding overlooks (Tofte/Carlton peaks), with easy lower-falls access for short walks and longer, steep routes that can be rough and challenging — not ideal for those with limited mobility. Beach and river-mouth walks are scenic and great for photos. Day-use areas include picnic spots, grills and fire pits. The park is popular in summer and campsites often fill quickly, so reservations are recommended.
